The eighth men’s tournament on this season’s World Tour will be staged in Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh. After the Singapore 4-star event in April has been cancelled due to the coronavirus, the other World Tour events in Southeast Asia will take place as scheduled. The Phnom Penh men only 2-star will run from February 20 -23. Main draw starts on February 21 with medal matches being played on February 23.
Ranked first in the main draw field are Austrians Christoph Dressler/Alexander Huber who won the 2019 event in Siem Reap. Rio 2010 Olympian Huber and his partner Dressler have two World Tour titles with the second being the gold medal at Qidong (China). In the main draw ranking they are followed by Australians McHugh/Schumann and Abbiati/Andreatta, T. from Italy.
The 2020 beach volleyball calendar is packed with World Tour events. Further stops in Asia in the first quarter are Bandar Abbas (3-star), Guam (1-star), Doha (4-star), Langkawi (1-star), and Coolangatta Beach (3-star).
