Only two days remaining! This Friday the World Championships in Hamburg will kick off. Of course it is the best you can do to follow the event live on center court at Hamburg Rothenbaum stadium. We do know that not everybody will be able to do so. No matter if you are planning to travel to Hamburg or you want to follow the matches from your couch, here comes some important practical information…
Matches generally start at 10am at the side courts and at 1pm at center court. The last match of the day will be a spectacular night match at 830pm on center court, usually with some home team from Germany being involved. You can find the exact court schedule here.
Access and Tickets
In general, entrance to the event is free but since capacity is limited, a “first come, first serve” principle will apply. Having in mind the 2018 Hamburg World Tour Finals, the Rothenbaum stadium will again see long queues on the final days. For guaranteed access, a ticket will be required. A day ticket guarantees access to the center court with free seating in a reserved area.
TV Broadcasting and Livestreams
If you won’t be able to travel to Hamburg, you can still watch the matches live. TV broadcasting depends on the country you live in. But you can subscribe to Beach Major Series’ BeachStream to access exclusive beach volleyball content. With this livestream you can get live and on-demand broadcasts of all matches as well as highlights from key matches. When you sign up, you are offered the livestream for free if you agree to provide your email for promotional purposes. If you decline, you can still purchase access to the livestream for € 4.99. However, this livestream is only available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH). If you don’t reside in one of those countries, you might still be able to access it using a VPN connection. If you don’t want to use VPN, you can head over to Volleyballworld and subscribe to one their passes. In some countries, the side courts 2 and 3 are also streamed on the FIVB Youtube channel.
And of course stay tuned with us. Beach Volleyball Space will cover the event on a daily basis ?
