If you’re like us, you are missing those great beach volleyball live events that would normally take place right now. The FIVB World Tour in Itapema or Jurmala, the AVP event in Austin or the German DVV Tour in Munster – all postponed or cancelled. But you can re-experience some past moments. The FIVB is currently providing the content of Volleyball TV for free. By using the promotional code FREEPASS, you can watch hundreds of matches from recent volleyball and beach volleyball top events. Moreover, they feature roundups and footage on the top players.
You should definitely watch again some of the great matches from last year’s Beach Volleyball World Championships in Hamburg, Germany. One of our favorites is the men’s semifinal on Day 9 between local heroes Thole/Wickler and the Beachvolley Vikings Mol/Sorum. The match was a real nailbiter with a highly contested referee decision in the very end of set three. On the final day, the bronze medal match featured the Vikings and Tri Bourne’s comeback with Trevor Crabb. In an entertaining match, the US team successfully showed their world-famous Hawaiian double-block against the Norwegian youngsters. Another highlight was the men’s quarterfinal on Day 8 between Jake Gibb/Taylor Crabb and later world champions Krasilnikov/ Stoyanovskiy from Russia. The American top team played a great match but could not get a hold of the Russians who produced a side-out ratio of incredible 100% in the first set! All matches can be accessed with the live commentary by Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medalist Dain Blanton.
The free offer will be available in numerous countries until August 31. The country list includes many European and Asian countries such as Germany, UK, Latvia or Singapore. In case it is not available in your country, you can use a VPN client and choose a country where the streams are available.
