Is Alexander Walkenhorst following his sister Kira for Olympic gold?

His sister Kira won the Olympic gold medal together with Laura Ludwig in Rio 2016. Now Alexander Walkenhorst (28) is teaming up with his young partner Sven Winter (18) to follow his sister. Due to injuries and team issues Alexander Walkenhorst couldn’t participate in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. With his 18-year old partner, one of Germany’s most talented youngsters, things shall now go differently. On their way to the Tokyo 2020 Games, they are supported by experienced coach Hans Voigt who has also worked with Brink/Reckermann who won the 2012 Olympic gold medal in London.
At the Smart Beach Tour start in Münster (Germany) they won the bronze medal, also beating the current World’s No.1 team Samoilovs/Smedins From Latvia.

Winter/Walkenhorst
They look like a “dream duo” to me! They won a bronze medal and beat current champions, yes that is a great year start! All I can say is “Wish you well Alexander Walkenhorst and Sven Winter “! 🙂
Best wishes,
Rebecca!
I bet it would be pretty cool to have both siblings win a medal in the Olympics! She probably could give him some good tips and advice 🙂
Paulina
Yes she definitely could. And at least in Beach Volleyball it would be the first time that two siblings win the gold medal in the same discipline…
