In search of the perfect beach bag…
I am always in trouble when packing my stuff to go to the beach or court to play beach volleyball. All the bags and backpacks I have are either too big or too small and I never know where to put the ball. Recently I stumbled upon a great Advantage Backpack by Rox that I find extremely practical. Moreover, it is also more affordable than classic vollyball equipment which can be quite expensive at times.
Rox is the American (beach) volleyball brand
Rox is an American volleyball brand based in Florida that was founded in 2008 by former volleyball players. Since 2010 they have been also focusing on beach volleyball apparel such as bathing suits, board shorts and cover-ups. Their clothing is mainly addressing competitive beach volleyball players. Additionally they are offering accessories such as bags and backpacks. They have been closely working together with top athletes like current FIVB World Tour winners Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena or Brooke Sweat.
Separate shoe, laptop, accessory and ball departments
The Rox Advantage Backpack is a medium size volleyball backpack with a reflective surface design. It comes with a range of great features. One of them is a separate shoe department on the bottom which proves very helpful when trying to store sweaty and sandy shoes. The main bag has a separate laptop department to store your computer. This is very practical when you go to the beach (court) directly after work. In order to optimize space in the main department, there is a single mesh detachable ball bag to store your ball outside of the backpack. I find this very convenient when I have too much stuff to put inside the backpack. For conveniently storing small items the backpack comes with an internal accessory pouch. Finally, two mesh water bottle holders can be found on both sides of the backpack to further reduce space requirements for the main department.
Why should I get it?
I really like this concept of separate departments because it makes the whole backpack very flexible. Additionally, you can choose between six different colors. The backpack is currently available in black, grey, navy, red, royal and Hawaii (turquois). Overall, I find this backpack so practical that I do not only use it for beach volleyball but for other purposes (e.g. office, day trips) as well.
Most volleyball backpacks are priced above $60
If you order at Amazon, the bag’s price is surprisingly moderate. Compare it to other volleyball bags or backpacks and you will confirm this backpacks’s great value-for-money. For example, most Mizuno volleyball bags such as the Mizuno lightning volleyball backpack will come at more than $60.
Considering the features, the color choice and the price of this backpack, my overall rating is 9.3 out of 10. Check out the Rox Advantage backpack here and let me know what you think about it in the comments.
