Notebook & Volleyball – The Under Armour Hustle 4.0 Backpack
One important item of your beach volleyball equipment is a bag or backpack. In a previous review of volleyball backpacks, we recommended the Mizuno Lightning Volleyball Backpack. We think it is a high-quality backpack that is highly convenient for the beach. However, it comes at a price. If your budget is limited and you want to go for a very affordable option, here is your alternative.
The Under Armour Hustle 4.0 Backpack is not a dedicated volleyball backpack, you should rather think of it as a gym and activity backpack. But since it is water-resistant, multi-functional and large enough, it is also a great bag for the beach. Under Armour’s storm technology provides a water-resistant fabric in case you are playing at a beach or when rain surprises you. The storage room is really large with a separate shoe pocket, two water bottle pockets at the side and a front laundry pocket. There are also dedicated pockets for valuables such as phone, keys etc. With its laptop sleeve and its top grab handle, you can use it for different purposes such as beach, gym, school or travel though we think that there are more convenient travel bags out there.
What are the pros?
The large storage does not only allow you to carry a notebook, but you can also fit your volleyball inside. That’s great when you don’t want to carry your game ball under your arm.
With its numerous compartments and functional zippers, the UA Hustle 4.0 makes it easy to access the different sections. The adjustable straps, the grab handle at the top and the back panel with polyester fabric make wearing the backpack very comfortable and convenient.
Though offering a large space, with 592g /1.3 pounds the backpack comes very lightweight. You don’t wanna carry heavy when going to the beach. And if you are into trying out different designs, the Hustle 4.0 comes in more than 25 color and design options.
What else to consider?
Well, we have to admit that the UA Hustle does not equal the Mizuno Lightning in terms of quality. The fabric’s look-and-feel is definitely cheaper and we haven’t yet tested the durability of the material. As you know, life is always a tradeoff. But considering the lower price, the UA is still a great value-for-money backpack. With a retail price of around US$ 30-40, you cannot really go wrong.
