FIVB World Tour Finals as third highlight in August
After World and European Championships, the FIVB World Tour Finals 2017 from August 23-27 in Hamburg (Germany) are the third major beach volleyball highlight this August. The event started off today with another great match between Olympic and World Champions Ludwig/Walkenhorst (Germany) and top Brazilian team Larissa/Talita.
In a very straightforward match, Ludwig/Walkenhorst beat Larissa/Talita in two sets in the first pool play. It was their second important win against the Brazilians within one month after beating them in the World Championship semifinals in Vienna. Strong serving by Walkenhorst and Ludwig’s defense skills were the key to their win. “After a very long season the crowd in Hamburg really pushes us to play at at that level again”, Ludwig said afterwards.
